St. Jordan's day commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. On this day, people in some regions bathe in rivers seeking good health. A ritual is performed where a cross is thrown into a body of water and young men dive in to retrieve it, with the finder receiving a blessing of good health. Three ritual loaves of bread are also baked - one for the family, one for a guest, and one left at the door for passersby with honey and wine.
