The sacrifice of God is a broken and contrite heart. O God, you
will not despise.
Dear friends in Christ, as we prepare to worship almighty God,
let us with penitent and obedient hearts confess our sins, that we
may obtain forgiveness by God’s infinite goodness and mercy.

All: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned
against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have
done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved
you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours

will make a new covenant with the house of Israel
and the house of Judah. It will not be like the

Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high
priest, but was appointed by the one who said to
him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; as
he says also in another place, “You are a priest
forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” In
the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and
supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one
who was able to save him from death, and he was
heard because of his reverent submission. Although
he was a Son, he learned obedience through what he
suffered; and having been made perfect, he became
the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,
having been designated by God a high priest
according to the order of Melchizedek.

Music Notes:
Next Sunday (Palm Sunday) the choir is singing a longer-than-
usual piece of music in an unusual place in the service. Instead
of an organ prelude, the service will begin with a wonderful
work called "Procession of Palms" by Malcolm Williamson, an
Australian born, UK based composer who was Master of the
Queen's Musick until his death in 2003. It is a very fitting way
in which to begin the exuberance of Palm Sunday.
  

Lenten Study Series - Ethical Decision-Making and the
Hebrew Bible Work sessions will be held in the side chapel
following the 10:30 service. A light lunch will be available in
Rev. Shepherd’s study. Everyone is welcome. Today’s topic:
Jeremiah and the Right to Refuse dangerous Work.
Today’s concert postponed
Unfortunately the concert scheduled for this afternoon has had
to be postponed. Please pass this information on to anyone you
know from outside St. Barnabas' who might have been planning
to attend.
Monday Night Bible study
Bible study with Grace in the rector’s study will continue on
March 26th at 7:00 PM. The topic of discussion will be The
Parable of the Pharisee and the Publican. Luke 18: 9-14.

attending the Bishop’s Holy Week Mission at St. Luke’s, rather

Loving the Bible
Without losing your mind! – A Holy Week Mission led by
Bishop Patrick Yu. This 3-evening discussion series will explore
critical issues regarding scripture and using the Bible
beneficially. Attend as many evenings as you are able and
please note that no prior experience is necessary. All are

St. Barnabas Book Club hosts author
On Wednesday, April 4th, St. Barnabas’ Book Club will be
hosting a reading by Toronto author, Andrew Borokowski,
whose book of short stories, Copernicus Avenue, we will be
discussing.
