The village of Rastoke is located 30 kilometers north of Plitvice Lakes National Park, situated at the confluence of the Slunjčica River and Korana River. Known as the "mini Plitvice Lakes", Rastoke is a small, beautiful, and quiet old village with houses built above the river waterfalls. When wandering around the village, water is everywhere in the form of lakes, small waterfalls, and old homes amongst many wood bridges, giving a feeling of stepping back in time. The term Rastoke refers to the branching of rivers, where the Slunjčica River splits into several branches flowing through cascades and waterfalls into the Korana River.
