Khimichev Alexandr Ivanovich was a famous table tennis trainer from Smolenskii district who brought the author into the sport of table tennis at age 8. Over 33 years of working as a trainer in Linovskoye, Khimichev prepared 9 candidates for master of sports and more than 25 first-class athletes. He was a champion of Altai krai in 1978 and participated in championships across Russia. Khimichev died in 2009 but an annual tennis tournament is held in his honor.

2. My name is Leonteva Katya. I`m a student of the
8th form. My hobby is sport. I play volleyball, and
basketball. But my favourite sport is table tennis.

Khimichev Aleksandr
Ivanovich was a
candidate master of
sports of the USSR. He
graduated from the
Altai State
Agricultural Institute.

5. He graduated from the
faculty of social
professions «A
Trainer of the table
tennis".
In 1976 he started
working in
Linovskoye.

6. Tennis players from our school took part in all tennis
competitions during 33 years. Our team became the
champion of the region among rural sportsmen, among
students and among adults twenty times.

7. During his work he prepared 9 candidates for
masters of sports and more than 25 first-class
sportsmen.

8. He was a trainer in
the children’s sports school.

10. Alexandr Ivanovich was a champion of the Altai krai in
individual event in 1978. He was a champion of Altai krai
among veterans and a participant of the championship of
Russia. He was a champion among veterans of Biisk.

11. He took part in competition in Irkutsk in 1992,
in Volgograd in 1995, in Azov in 1997.

12. Aleksandr
Ivanovich was
awarded diplomas.
He was “Master of
national education”
and «Master of
physical culture and
sports»

13. Alexandr Ivanovich
died in 2009.
