The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report on February 14, 2010 warning that climate change poses severe, widespread, and irreversible impacts on people and natural systems. The report found that climate change risks will be significantly reduced by making strong, early actions to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. The report was based on research from more than 1,000 scientists and representatives from over 120 countries.
