I E B A
I would like to personally thank you for considering to sponsor
our association and the Echo Sustainability Conference of 2017.
for us, it is exciting to see how students, faculty and the business
community work together to jumpstart the successful careers of
future generations. This interaction becomes even more crucial
at times when the climate is changing and when we need to act
in unity to ensure that future generations will not only have great
careers, but also better standards of living than we currently do.
Delivering and reinforcing this message will be possible through
our Conference. Our motto is “Amplify Change” and we hope to
disseminate this call for action to the entire student body.
Your support is very important to create a high-quality environ-
ment of learning and understanding. It allows us to reach out
to more students to attend our event, and to encourage more
speakers to accept our invitation. In asking for your contribution,
we are seeking more than a sponsorship relation: we are seek-
ing a long-term relation - a bridge between your organization and
our members. We want to build this relation by connecting you
with talented individuals in our association, and at UBC.
My team and I are at your disposal for any questions you may
have.
Thank you,
Tudor Schlanger

Dear valued partners,
IEBA is UBC’s first student-run organization dedicated
to connecting students of the Vancouver School of Eco-
nomics (VSE) to the business community, both locally
and internationally, broadening their understanding of
the private sector and revealing the potential of an eco-
nomics degree in the business realm. At IEBA, we strive
to integrate sustainable initiatives and economics as we
believe they are intrinsically intertwined within our dy-
namic society.
Our Story

Entrust
Empower
The Echo Sustainability Conference has one core objective:
to accelerate the promotion of sustainability initiatives at
different levels of society and in each sector of our economy.
IEBA received the call of action that scientists and world leaders
have sent to all of us, that there is a dire need of action to curb
the rise of temperatures and protect the environment, that we
have a moral imperative to become more socially responsible
and that we should help others too in achieving a sustainable
future. Since IEBA is a student club at UBC, we assumed the
responsibility to reinforce this call upon our fellow students. As
students communicate with one another, this call reverberates
like a sound wave in perpetual motion; each time this call reach-
es someone, it does not fade away, but instead, it strengthens
itself with every new voice that it gains.
UBC students live and study in one of the most sustainable
cities and universities in the world, but that in itself does not
guarantee that everyone feels included in the sustainability
movement. The Echo Sustainability Conference ensures that
students will easily identify with the movement and find a way
to act upon it. To make that happen, our conference addresses
many passions and interests. We aspire to inspire every student
to pursue a sustainable future no matter what their career ob-
jectives are, because we believe sustainability is not a field in
itself, but rather a choice everyone can make in their field.
We will achieve this through our 3 principles:
Enlighten, Empower, and Entrust.
