Integration solution with daxtra resume indexing

It groups containers that make up an application into logical units for easy management and discovery. The main Kubernetes components include a master node that manages the cluster and worker nodes that run applications. It uses kubectl, etcd, Docker, and various control plane components like the API server, scheduler and controller manager. AKS simplifies Kubernetes deployment and management on Azure by offloading much of the operational overhead. It can be deployed through the Azure CLI by creating a resource group, installing AKS and getting credentials to connect kubectl to the cluster.
KubeCon EU 2016: Integrated trusted computing in Kubernetes
Being able to trust your containers requires that you be able to trust the systems your containers are running on. Trusted computing makes it possible for computers to prove what they’ve booted, making it practical for clusters to verify that systems haven’t been compromised, but up until now it’s been a heroic task to deploy a trusted computing environment.
This presentation will describe the integration of trusted computing technologies into Kubernetes, making it possible to define policies that provide fine-grained access control to cluster resources and distribute secrets in a secure manner. It will then introduce functionality added to the rkt runtime, making it possible to extend trusted computing from initial system state to validation of individual containers.

Why Visibility into Your Stack Matters
When running any amount of systems, gaining visibility into what they are doing can be a non-trivial matter. Starting on the path to monitoring can prove bumpy, and if you don’t measure, you don’t know. In this session, Michael Fiedler, Director of TechOps, will speak on personal experience with scalability, deployment, and monitoring challenges prior to using Datadog - and how that changed. He will cover how to get started, and examples of where monitoring the company's platform with Datadog provided the guiding light towards the team solving scalability problems.

One of the best features of Akka is Akka Cluster. Akka cluster allows for building distributed applications, where one application or service spans multiple nodes. From its initial release in 2013, Akka Cluster needed a node management system to manage the Akka nodes and to provide a resilient and elastic platform. With Kubernetes Akka finally has the node management system that is has been waiting for. Akka Cluster has been designed to gracefully handle nodes leaving and joining a running cluster while continuing to run. Kubernetes adds and removes nodes as needed to increase capacity or to recover from failures. In effect, there is a perfect symbiosis between Akka Cluster and Kubernetes. In this talk, we will look at and demonstrate how Akka Java Cluster and Kubernetes work together and how together they form a beautiful relationship.
Productionize spark structured streaming
Ivan Kosianenko discusses how AppsFlyer has evolved its data pipeline from using MemSQL and Druid to handle 12 billion events daily to now using ClickHouse and Druid to handle 38 billion events daily. He then explains how building a custom data streaming solution with Clojure can become complex due to issues like distributed orchestration, monitoring, and delivery guarantees. As an alternative, Ivan recommends using Spark Structured Streaming for its built-in functionality addressing these issues like write-ahead logging and exactly-once processing. He demonstrates how AppsFlyer leverages Spark Structured Streaming to ingest streaming data from Kafka into ClickHouse while monitoring streaming queries and end-to-end latency.

ORM helps developers to speed up the coding, security, maintenance and it is independently from RDBMS engine; some of ORMs have also several caching level capabilities (i.e. Hibernate ehcache) that increase overall performances. Furthermore ORM do not require the knowledge of query language (SQL), so the developers do not need additional skills to write the code. This is fine when you use pure ORM and the application structure is not “complicated”, in this way you loose some of very useful RDBMS functionality such views/triggers/store and so on; in same cases is very helpful to delegate to RDBMS some specific actions that can be performed better by the RDBMS engine. The problem is: how to keep ORM cached data aligned with RDBMS data when something happens at RDBMS level (i.e. a DELETE CASCADE is triggered)?

There is a problem of finding the correct operating services In a distributed systems with dynamic configuration. Currently, there are designed one and more solutions for the ever-changing storage configuration. It should be mentioned at least Netflix Eureka, Consul, etcd or good old Zookeeper. Spring Cloud project allows to integrate some of these solutions to your project and provides powerful solutions for typical problems. However, on the way to unicorns not the most obvious subtleties of implementation and associated problems of use in real projects wait for a developer.
This talk will review the internal structure SpringCloud, implementation of Client-Side Service Discovery pattern, and specific details of concrete implementations on the example of the official libraries and the author's own library.

Furthermore ORM do not require the knowledge of query language (SQL), so the developers do not need additional skills to write the code. This is fine when you use pure ORM and the application structure is not “complicated”, in this way you loose some of very useful RDBMS functionality such views/triggers/store and so on; in same cases is very helpful to delegate to RDBMS some specific actions that can be performed better by the RDBMS engine. The problem is: how to keep ORM cached data aligned with RDBMS data when something happens at RDBMS level (i.e. a DELETE CASCADE is triggered)?

One of the best features of Akka is Akka Cluster. Akka cluster allows for building distributed applications, where one application or service spans multiple nodes. From its initial release in 2013, Akka Cluster needed a node management system to manage the Akka nodes and to provide a resilient and elastic platform. With Kubernetes Akka finally has the node management system that is has been waiting for. Akka Cluster has been designed to gracefully handle nodes leaving and joining a running cluster while continuing to run. Kubernetes adds and removes nodes as needed to increase capacity or to recover from failures. In effect, there is a perfect symbiosis between Akka Cluster and Kubernetes. In this talk, we will look at and demonstrate how Akka Java Cluster and Kubernetes work together and how together they form a beautiful relationship.

It all began with an idea for a brand-new plugin for the Atlassian Jira Agile tool. Our plugin uses an innovative design based on GoLang, AWS Athena, Lambdas, and DynamoDB, and the Atlassian AtlasKit SDK for ReactJS. Serverless applications have many nice features that help make them secure. Lambdas get their credentials injected at runtime, eliminating the need to store keys or credentials. Our SSO solution improves security still further, by creating temporary credentials for every session, eliminating static keys and credentials. Given this excellent foundation, we thought our MVP was ready for production! Alas, how mistaken we were...
In order to meet Atlassian’s strict cybersecurity guidelines, we implemented security tools including GitHub’s dependabot, AWS credential management services, AWS app firewall, gosec, ZAP tester, and Nessus. Dandelion Hashtable: beyond billion requests per second on a commodity server
This slide deck presents DLHT, a concurrent in-memory hashtable. Despite efforts to optimize hashtables, that go as far as sacrificing core functionality, state-of-the-art designs still incur multiple memory accesses per request and block request processing in three cases. First, most hashtables block while waiting for data to be retrieved from memory. Second, open-addressing designs, which represent the current state-of-the-art, either cannot free index slots on deletes or must block all requests to do so. Third, index resizes block every request until all objects are copied to the new index. Defying folklore wisdom, DLHT forgoes open-addressing and adopts a fully-featured and memory-aware closed-addressing design based on bounded cache-line-chaining. This design offers lock-free index operations and deletes that free slots instantly, (2) completes most requests with a single memory access, (3) utilizes software prefetching to hide memory latencies, and (4) employs a novel non-blocking and parallel resizing. In a commodity server and a memory-resident workload, DLHT surpasses 1.6B requests per second and provides 3.5x (12x) the throughput of the state-of-the-art closed-addressing (open-addressing) resizable hashtable on Gets (Deletes).

Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
