Splitboards
Technical issues
The actual bindings are old-fashionned
and not practical

 • There are many small parts, specially the pins
that you have to lock/delock for the change of
     the position.

 • There´re existing solutions that are more
efficient (faster procedure of assembly, handier
     parts)

 • With icy conditions you get snow in every part
of the actual bindings wich must be cleaned.
Technical issues
The gloves are big and not handy

 • The pin (from the bindings), the hooks, and the
lock of the skins are really unconfortable to
     handle with the gloves.

 • “...I freeze my fingers every time I have to split
the board...” - (Michele from LaGlisse)

 • Mobile communication is impossible with gloves.
Technical issues
The PROs are not happy with their boards

 • “The screws of the hooks shoudn´t get to
     the other side”

 • “You can not adjust the bindings as you
     want”

 • “The radius should be between 15º-18º”

 • “The board is to heavy specially when you
have to carry uphill” - (Pietro Lamiani)
Technical issues
The skin can´t be attached when the
board is not clean

 • The board must be dry

 • The skins must be warm

 • “In bad wheather it´s impossible to
clean the board” (Michele from LaGlisse)
Education
If you don´t have the right preparation
you can´t practice this sport

 • “You have to be aware of the avalanches, once you get in
     it´s impossible to get out” - (Michele/Pietro)

 • Read and obey all posted signs on the mountains, they
     are there for a purpose.

 • Complete and certified gear (apparel, splitboard,
     helmets, boots, etc)

 • Safety equipment in case of emergency (shovel, gps, first
     aid kit, etc)
Feelings in matter
Splitboard is not made for women
intermediate

• Is too extreme for just an intermediate

• The hole procedure is too hard
    (climbing, split-attach)

• “Women are always more cautious” -
    (Michele from LaGlisse)

• Less physical strenght
Design Challenges
How to introduce
    splitboard into women
    intermediate

• Develop a faster procedure on assambly

• Appeal to women in design and functionality

• Increase safety

• Make handier parts
