The document describes 6 realms of spiritual existence: the Heaven, Human, Asura, Hungry Ghost, Animal, and Hell realms. Each realm is associated with different characteristics based on karma - the Heaven realm is for devas, the Human realm is for humans, the Asura realm is for those with wrath and pride who love war, the Hungry Ghost realm is for those obsessed with desires, the Animal realm is where ignorant people are reborn, and the Hell realm punishes those with extremely negative karma.

- devas share the characteristic of being invisible to the physical human eye. Devas are also capable of moving great distances speedily and of flying through the air. Buddhist devas are not immortal. Rarely intervene in human affairs. Buddha’s are above Deva’s
- Only a human can attain enlightenment as a Buddha. Human birth extremely rare. Like a turtle coming to the surface once every 100 years. Most kalpas have no buddhas but this has 1000s. We are lucky to be born in it.
- They live in the area at the foot of Mount Sumeru. Because of their passions, rebirth as an Asura is considered to be one of the four unhappy births. They are described as having four heads with four faces and four to six arms
- Have small mouth and throat. They were jealous and greedy in a past life. Japan has a special day for them called segaki in august to return them to the ghost realm.
- Hell does not last forever. There are cold and hot narakas.
