What is our role in the workplace? Apostle Paul said that we are ambassadors for Christ. If we can't share the Gospel with coworkers, how can we glorify God at the place where we spent most of our day? In this workshop, the speaker will share 5 surprisingly easy principles on how we can successfully introduce Christ into our workplace. Speaker is Christine Hsia in Mandarin Chinese.

Head of School Clark Gilbert credits Milpitas Christian’s emphasis on STEM curriculum science, technology, engineering and math for helping Terry develop his design. The curriculum “is shaping young minds to be creative and complex thinkers,” Gilbert said. “While our classrooms are closed during this public health crisis, students like Terry continue to learn remotely and
put their knowledge into practice. They are true community contributors who use their talents and abilities to benefit the communities they live in.”

Science and Technology Success - Milpitas Christian SchoolJim Hsia
For 18 years, students from Milpitas Christian
School have successfully competed in Silicon
Valley’s premiere science fair competition.
The
Synopsys Championship showcases the
achievements of middle and high school students in
Santa Clara county. Students are challenged to do
independent project based research to address
questions in the fields of Computer Science,
Environmental Science, Medicine & Health, Chemistry,
Biology, and other categories. These students will
become future scientists, technology experts,
engineers, and mathematicians.
The student conducted a science fair project to test the effect of banana peels on reducing lead levels in contaminated water. They hypothesized that mixing banana peels into lead-contaminated water would decrease the amount of lead over time. Through an experimental procedure testing fertilizer runoff water, the student found that samples with banana peels gradually decreased their lead levels to zero after 12 hours. The results supported the hypothesis that banana peels can effectively reduce lead in water. The student concluded that banana peels have potential as a natural water purifier and method to reduce agricultural waste.

Projecting the potential impacts of COVID-19 school closures on academic achi...Jim Hsia
In this study, we produce a series of projections of COVID-19-related learning loss and its potential effect on test scores in the 2020-21 school year based on (a) estimates from prior literature and (b) analyses of typical summer learning patterns of five million students. Under these projections, students are likely to return in fall 2020 with approximately 63-68% of the learning
gains in reading relative to a typical school year and with 37-50% of the learning gains in math.
However, we estimate that losing ground during the COVID-19 school closures would not be universal, with the top third of students potentially making gains in reading.

Press Release: Designing, Constructing and Packaging BAND-AID® ActivityJim Hsia
Students at Milpitas Christian School (MCS) used their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills to understand the concepts for designing, constructing and packaging bandages. Volunteers from Johnson & Johnson Vision challenged the elementary school students to think critically and be creative problem solvers during their in-class exploratory sessions.
The annual Synopsys Championship showcases students in the Santa Clara County of California who will become our future scientists, technology experts, engineers, and mathematicians. This regional competition celebrates achievement by middle and high school students supported by their parents, teachers, and schools. MCS students competed against public and prestigious private middle schools from Cupertino, Santa Clara, San Jose, Campbell, and Milpitas.
White Paper: Academic Achievement at Milpitas Christian SchoolJim Hsia
In April of each year, students at Milpitas Christian School in grades 2 to 8 take a standardized achievement test (TerraNova 3 Complete Battery). This tool provides detailed diagnostic information, precise norm-referenced achievement scores, a full complement of criterion-referenced objective mastery scores, and performance-level information.
Are Preschoolers Ready for Remote Learning?Jim Hsia
Milpitas Christian School has transitioned their preschool program to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers provide video meetings, worksheets, and activities to help preschoolers continue developing academic and social skills at home. Parents were initially concerned about preschoolers' ability to learn remotely but have been pleased with the structure and engagement provided. The remote learning aims to prevent learning loss during the extended school closure and help children remain confident learners.
MCS Student Makes Face Shields for Milpitas Food Pantry WorkersJim Hsia
An eighth grade student at Milpitas Christian School used his 3D printer to make face shields for workers at the local food bank in less than 24 hours. He donated two face shields after learning about the critical need for personal protective equipment. The student's quick action exemplifies the school's spirit of innovation and community service. The school emphasizes STEM learning which allows students to think creatively and help their community even while distance learning during the pandemic.
This document summarizes the 2020 Synopsys Championship, a science fair for middle and high school students in Silicon Valley. It lists the participants and winners from Milpitas Christian School, including Himani M who won 1st place in the physical science category for her project on bioplastics from root vegetables. It also provides statistics on the number of entries and awards won by different local middle schools that participated in the event.
Remote Learning at Milpitas Christian SchoolJim Hsia
Milpitas Christian School has implemented a remote learning program to continue students' education during school closures. Students attend daily online classes and activities led by teachers. Special activities like PE, music, and library are integrated into grade-level schedules. Teachers, students, and parents work together to monitor progress and ensure engagement. The school aims to provide a balanced and safe remote learning environment while developing students' academic and social-emotional skills.

Milpitas Christian School - We Make Learning FunJim Hsia
Milpitas Christian School offers a full curriculum to challenge students intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally in a small class size of 13 students per teacher. The school accepts students of all backgrounds and provides enrichment programs in subjects like Chinese, chess, clay art, engineering, and programming. It aims to make learning fun while preparing students through hands-on experiences such as outdoor education trips along the East Coast.

When learning is fun, children are more attentive and more motivated. Our interactive activities apply a variety of proven teaching methods to reach all learners—including those who may speak another language at home.
Play-based learning helps young children to build critical communication and collaboration skills without realizing that they are actively learning. Singing, drawing, and counting help kids build academic foundations. Sharing and cooperating with other children allow children to develop social and emotional skills.

The document provides guides for leading Bible study discussions over 4 days. Day 2 focuses on Joshua 7:1-26, in which the Israelites are defeated in battle due to Achan's sin of taking spoils. The passage emphasizes the need to purge sin from the community to reconcile with God. Day 3 examines Joshua 22:1-34, where a misunderstanding nearly causes conflict, but leaders communicate to resolve issues. Day 4 looks at Matthew 18:21-36, where Jesus teaches that those forgiven much should forgive others, showing the relationship between reconciling with God and others. The guides provide discussion questions and background to help leaders facilitate understanding and application of the themes.
