III. Procedure/Developmental Activity
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNER’S ACTIVITY
A. Preparation
“Good morning class”
“Everyone, please stand up for our
opening prayer.”
Sit down everyone and I have a set of
rules for you to follow, please read.”
“Good morning teacher”
“In the name of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Dear God, we thank you for the
gift of life and this beautiful day.
We are grateful for our families,
friends, and the opportunity to
learn. Please help us to be kind,
respectful, and good students
today. Guide our teachers and give
us the wisdom and strength to
learn everything we can. We love
you, God, and we pray for your
blessing on our school and all who
are here. Amen.”
“Classroom Rules
1. Listen carefully.
2.
“Everyone must followthe given rules
and show respect to everyone.”
“Say present ma’am if you’re name is
called”
“Sachi Portuguez”
“Gavrie Portuguez….”
“Wonderful, everyone is eager to be here
today.”
B. Drill
(Shows Flashcards)
Class I am holding flashcards when I
flash the cards you answer what shape is
in the card, are you all ready?
Very good class, next you tell me
2. Raise your right if you want
to answer or ask question.

what is thecolor of the objects in the
flashcards, am I clear?
Very good! My class is really smart give
yourselves a barangay clap.
C. Motivation
“Before we start, I want you to look
at these pictures”
“What have you observed class?”
“Very good!”
What else, anyone one what do you
see in the picture?
Very good
“It shows triangles that are group
together”
“Then base on the picture that you
have seen what do you think is our
topic for today?”

D. Presentation of the Topic
“Our topic for today is all about
patterns”
E. Discussion
A pattern is an ordered set of
numbers, or sequences of shapes, or
other mathematical objects that are
arranged based on some rules.
“This means that what you see in the
picture is an example of pattern.
Patterns make things beautiful and
appealing to the eye. We see patterns
in embroidery, in basket and mat
weaving, in gardening and
landscaping, in arts, and in geometry
and algebra, and many more.”
Here are some of the examples:
“You can see class that the designs

triangle keeps on getting bigger.
“I think our topic for today is
about number of shapes”

are repeated, theshapes and color are
arranged accurately it also very
detailed”
“Do you know class how many
common stages are there in a moon’s
cycle?”
“There 4 common stages of the
moon namely new moon, first
quarter, full moon, and last quarter.
In following months these four
stages will happen again. And this is
another example of pattern, what is
the pattern of the moon cycle class?”
“This the stages of the moon and it’s
called lunar phases”
“Here’s another example, look at the
pattern, what should be the next part,
anyone wants to answer?”
Very good it is letter B.
No ma’am
Full moon, first quarter, new
moon, and third quarter
6.
How about this, what is the next object
and color in the pattern?
F. Generalization
Again class, what is pattern?
“Very good, any other hand please”
Very good class
Since you know what is pattern, give me
an example.
Another example
Very good everyone
G. Application
Let’s have an activity.
The letter B ma’am
“Patterns are numbers, letters,
shapes and many other things that
is in sequence”
“Patterns ate group of objects that
7.
Designing Patterns
“I willgroup the class into four groups
using these cards each pupil will pick a
card and the number on the card will
determine your group number you will
belong. If everyone has picked their card
already then please stand all number 1,
please proceed to the right side, all group
no. 2 stand and proceed to the left side,
all group no. 3 stand and form your
group at the right corner and all no. 4
stand and form your group at the left
corner. Is everyone in their respective
group.”
“Then choose your leader and all leaders
come here in front to get your
materials.”
Instructions:
“Here’s what you’re going to do think of
the things that you see at home, at your
classroom and at your community. Then
create a pattern with at least 6 elements
or objects and draw the pattern that your
group has created, write its name. And
choose one representative from the
group to say something about your
output, how did you come up with that
pattern, where did you see it.”
“Do you have any questions; class raise
your hand for more clarification.
Very Good! Before we start let us read
the scoring rubrics.
