Chirivel is a small town located in southern Spain's Andalusia region with 1,800 inhabitants. It sits in the Sierra María-Los Vélez natural park in the province of Almería. Nearby villages include Vélez Rubio with 7,000 people located 16km away, Vélez Blanco with 2,300 people 26km away, and María with 1,300 people 34km away. C.P. Jerónima Reche is a small school in Chirivel with around 160 students across infant, primary, and secondary levels. The school began teaching English to infant students in 2011 for one hour per week.
