The court is following up on orders it previously passed on July 1st and August 27th directing state authorities in Jharkhand to comply with Supreme Court orders regarding treatment, aftercare, and rehabilitation of acid attack victims. 2. The Supreme Court had convened a meeting where it was decided that states must treat acid attack victims, involve private hospitals, not refuse treatment, provide first aid and further care, and take action against non-compliant hospitals. 3. The court is unhappy that Jharkhand authorities have not provided a concrete response or shown compliance with the Supreme Court orders, and warns that the Chief Secretary and other officials may have to appear in person at the next hearing if no affidavit
