Introduction
 Solar energy is one of the most available forms of energy on the earth’s
surface.
 The main purpose of using solar energy is to reduce the emissions of
CO2 and other harmful gases that are responsible for global warming .
 The air conditioning is an attractive field for the application of solar
energy because of the availability of maximum solar radiation during
summer season when we need cooling.
 Now days we need such technologies that have lower operational cost
and minimum impact on the environment.Solar power air conditioning
is such type of technology that will have lower operational cost and
environment friendly.
Objectives
 To reduce emission of harmful gasses that are responsible
ozone depletion.
 To reduce electricity bills and to have a cooler planet.
 To demonstrate the difference between solar power air
conditioning and conventional air conditioning.
Model of a solar power air conditioner
Working procedure:
Water is heated by the solar panel and stored in the hot water tank . This
solar hot water can be used through out home reducing the need of gas or
electricity . A portion of hot water is diverted into solar air conditioning
unit which is divided into two compartment and enters the heat
exchanger which is the first compartment.
Continued
The heat exchanger uses the water to heat outside air that has
been drawn into first compartment through the vane. At same
time outside air also been drawn into second compartment into a
desiccant wheel which is the critical part of the system. It’s
function is to dry out air before goes into the house.
Continued
Absorbing moisture the desiccant material dry out in the first
compartment by the hot dry air generated by the heat exchanger.
This air is then exhausted outside home. The dry air from
desiccant wheel flows through indirect evaporative cooler which
creates stream of cool dry air.
Continued
This cool air is feed into home in order to cool down
home . In winter solar heated air can be used to heat
room directly .

Conclusion
 So, we can conclude that solar energy is able to power
sufficient energy to power the solar air conditioning system.
 The energy consumption of solar air-conditioning system
relatively small and the solar powered chilled water system
provides zero energy cost comparing to electric driven
chillers.
 The economical view is profitable after several years of
installation. The environmental view is green energy causing
no pollution to the surrounding.
 We should not only consider about economic benefits but also
the problem caused by the pollution and its effect to the
environment .
 Implementation of solar energy cooling system should be
encouraged but not be underestimated.
Thank You
