- 7. Location of solar cell : unit should be located in such a place where maximum sunlight is available Turbidity of water : the turbidity of the water should be low otherwise disinfection will be difficult

Some scientific facts • Sun exposure is to be considered to be the most important cause of ‘natural disinfection’ in surface water bodies. • The solar water heating was considered to be a superior disinfectant of water based on its ability to ‘inactive more than 99.9’ of fecal indicator bacteria • The uv-B portion of the solar spectrum is the most bactericidal causing direct ( photo –biiological) DNA damage High turbididity sustainability reduces UV-B transmittance water causing decrease of elimination efficiency.
- 9. Results of the experiment • The results of the present study show that sunlight ,given an appropriate intensity and good water transpirancy is suitable to inactive Fecal indicator bacteria . The results from this study indicate that temperature effects the degree of water disinfection by natural uv radiation . as the temperature of the water increased the time needed to obtain maximum bacterial inactivation required
- 10. MERITS OF THE TECHNIQUE The technique is easy and simple to apply. This technique is economical. No dangerous ,hazardous or toxic by product are produced.
