A Catholic charity from Perth, Australia recently returned from distributing aid in remote areas affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. They saw that the situation had not improved much three months after the typhoon, with many people still living in tents without power or permanent housing. In response, the charity is launching a new project called "Adopt a Family" to help typhoon victims build disaster-proof homes for $2,000-$3,000, providing families a sustainable shelter to withstand future natural disasters.
