This document discusses SNIK, an ontology for information management in hospitals that was developed as part of a DFG project from 2014-2019 at the Institute for Medical Informatics, Statistics and Epidemiology at Leipzig University. The ontology includes concepts for the domain, vocabulary, synonyms, meta model, modelling examples, transformations, and lifecycle. It also describes how the ontology can be used for storage, authoring, interlinking, browsing, searching, exploring, and ensuring quality.
