1. Uncovered Trolley versus SMI Covered Trolley
The Test
Validation testing was carried out overnight at a national bakery. During this 10 hour trial core
temperatures were taken from produce stored on two trolleys. The first Trolley had semi frozen
produce on each shelf and had no cover, the second trolley contained similar semi frozen produce
but was protected by an SMI Insulated cover containing 12mm Tempro®.
During the trial Tinytag Gemini Data Loggers were used to take core temperatures of the produce on
each shelf of each trolley. The data loggers were set to take readings every minute throughout the
trial. A data logger was also set to take the ambient room temperature.
