I am Darin Knochel, born and raised in Kawkawlin, MI where I still live today. My hobbies include sports, video games, and girls. I come from a family consisting of my parents, a 16 year old sister, 5 year old brother, and dog Toby. I would like to visit Boston and Disneyworld in the future. My education and career plans are to major in Social Studies with a minor in Sports Medicine.

Darryl Johnson introduces himself and discusses his journey from focusing solely on sports in high school to discovering a passion for engineering. He realized through an introductory engineering course that he could solve problems and help people through applying math and science. This made engineering his "Plan B" if not sports. Ultimately, encouraged by his mother, he decided to pursue engineering over playing college football. He is now a mechanical engineering student at NC State involved in several engineering organizations and mentoring programs.

The Muslim family is strong, as is the umma, or Muslim community. Such characteristics as loyalty, honor, avoiding shame, hospitality, and the relationship of man and women are key. One's identity is tied to the family group. In addition to the father, the eldest son has great responsablity. Women's chastity is vital for family honor.

This document discusses several issues related to general da'wah (Islamic outreach/invitation). It addresses criticisms of Muslim practices like polygamy and arranged marriages. Regarding polygamy, it argues that Islam regulated an existing practice and only a minority of Muslims practice it today. It notes arranged marriages require the woman's consent. AASHA Foundation is seeking a Rs. 3,00,000 grant from Tata Group of Industries to support their program providing food, education and shelter to underprivileged children in rural India. The grant would allow AASHA to continue operating mobile health clinics, schools, and orphanages across Delhi. AASHA has been working for 29 years to improve lives of children through various programs and has helped over 1,355 children. They are requesting funds to expand their efforts and support even more underprivileged children.

Fall risk presentation
This study examined the relationship between ankle co-contraction during static balance tasks and fall risk in older adults. Researchers measured ankle muscle activity with EMG in 23 older adult participants during various static balance tasks. Higher ankle co-contraction, as measured by a co-contraction index, was associated with poorer performance on a fall risk assessment test (the Four Square Step Test). Specifically, participants with high ankle co-contraction scores were over 20 times more likely to be at higher risk for falls. The results suggest that ankle co-contraction may help predict fall risk and should be a focus of interventions to improve balance in older adults.
