: Do Students Learn Better in Single Sex Class?
Can you imagine how a lion population only contains by the lioness in it? Maybe, the lioness will die one
by one and will eat each other.And how if that thing happened in humans like us?Allright, Not to a high
level to the humans population, but we try to apply that things around us. What if that things happens in
every schools in Indonesia? Do you prefer a school that only contains one sex in it? or normal school like
a Public School which contains by female and male students?
Well, Single sex school are not good for education. Scientist ever say that, In today’s world, society is
much more relaxed than it was fifty years ago. Keeping the sexes apart is something that was done in
“the old days” but is now outdated. So many people say that “Life is not single-sex” .First, after
examining past research on the benefits of single-sex education, the researchers assert that there's no
scientific evidence for positive effects of single-sex school.
In Indonesia today has a lot of several Islamic schools that have dominated by 'single sex school'. You
can see now, what would happen if all school treat 'single sex school'?Maybe the Islamic school have
treated it at school because of they use the Islamic rule. It was very different from the 'Public School'
which mostly used by the people in the cities in Indonesia. They don’t use Islamic rule, although many
students have religion which dominated by Islam in it.
You can think now, from the sentence ‘Single Sex School’ So many contra of that statement. So many
negative things in there.For Example, if there’s only a male student who study in that school. Maybe
They’ll getting bored of their school because in that school they cant communicate with someone
different and they don’t know how to communicate by female student outside. And you can see now, so
many homosexual or Lesbian happened in our life, it doesn’t close the possibility caused by ‘single sex
school’. Because if only one sex there they’ll don’t know how is love like? They don’t know What’s grow
up mean, and they never try that in their adolescent years.
If you compare our country with another country of course another country would prefer a normal
school like boy and girl as student in a school. Because, beside to establish good communication can also
improve the high competitiveness of the students. Because not all of the students have same
capabilities.
From all of that, Students will be able to adapt and realize themself as a student if there is a differences
in a zone that would make a positive impact for the future. And Most importantly, single-sex school
reduces ‘boys’ and ‘girls’ opportunities to learn from and about each other.
