This document provides a 4-step process for sewing taught by Ms. Stark: 1) Make a large loop with thread, 2) Insert the needle from the bottom close to the last stitch, 3) Pull the loop close to the needle so it encircles it, 4) Push the needle through the fabric and give a gentle tug to tighten the stitch without yanking. The steps are illustrated through interactive slides.
