Public Invited to Free Dinner Event to Hear
Renowned Neuroscientist Speak on Baltimore’s Future
Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. will discuss how deeper connections can help
Baltimoreans from all walks of life work together more seamlessly to
improve the city’s sense of community and hope for a bright future.

This free event will kick off Giving Tuesday, which is dedicated to
planning, completing or pledging small or large acts of kindness on
Tuesday, November 29.
Siegel will discuss "Mindsight," a term he coined to describe the human
capacity to perceive the mind of self and others which allows us to
develop stronger relationships and increased interconnectedness.
Dr. Siegel's unique ability to make complicated scientific concepts
accessible and exciting has earned him invitations to address such
notables as Pope John Paul II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Google
University. When he is not traveling the globe, he is a clinical professor
of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, founding co-director of
the Mindful Awareness Research Center at UCLA and Executive
Director of the Mindsight Institute in Santa Monica.

2. Daniel J. Siegel received his medical degree from Harvard University and
completed his postgraduate medical education at UCLA with training in
pediatrics and child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. He served as a
National Institute of Mental Health Research Fellow at UCLA, studying
family interactions with an emphasis on how attachment experiences
influence emotions, behavior, autobiographical memory and narrative.
