SIB1 is transmitted every 80ms on the broadcast control channel, while the scheduling information it provides allows UE to determine the transmission timing of other SIBs, such as SIB2-SIB13, on the downlink shared channel.

System information words transmitted continuously by GSM base stations contain parameters needed by mobile phones to access the network. There are 6 types of words transmitted via different channels. Type 1-4 are transmitted on the broadcast control channel and contain cell parameters. Type 5-6 are transmitted during radio links on the slow associated control channel and contain neighboring cell descriptions. Each word is spread over multiple bursts or frames and contains various information elements specifying settings like available frequencies, location, access controls, and more.

String 2 is a full-size prototype of an LHC arc cell consisting of magnets and a cryogenic distribution line. Over 700 sensors and actuators are distributed along fieldbuses and controlled by two PLCs running 126 control loops. The cryogenic control system, instrumentation, and commissioning are described. Commissioning identified issues like sensor mismatches which were repaired. Cool-down was achieved in 2 weeks and magnets were powered to nominal currents. Additional thermometer errors were found and will inform LHC installation procedures.

We recently hosted the much-anticipated Community Skill Builders Workshop during our June online meeting. This event was a culmination of six months of listening to your feedback and crafting solutions to better support your PMI journey. Here’s a look back at what happened and the exciting developments that emerged from our collaborative efforts.
A Gathering of Minds
We were thrilled to see a diverse group of attendees, including local certified PMI trainers and both new and experienced members eager to contribute their perspectives. The workshop was structured into three dynamic discussion sessions, each led by our dedicated membership advocates.
