This document provides information about various short-term mission trip opportunities through Berean Baptist Church's Global Outreach program. It describes trips for adults, junior high students, and senior high students happening between February and January 2011. Locations include Croatia, Malawi, the Philippines, East Asia, India, the Caribbean, South Dakota, Chicago, Mexico City, and New York City. The trips involve tasks like construction projects, teaching, medical assistance, and outreach. Participants must attend a training called STEP One to prepare for short-term cross-cultural ministry.

3. Global Outreach at Berean exists to see every believer
develop a global kingdom perspective and take an active
part in reaching the world for Christ. Part of fulfilling that
vision comes through short-term mission trips. Global
Outreach offers a variety of short-term trips, in partnership
with our missionary partners around the world. Short-term
trips are a great opportunity for families, small groups, and
individuals to participate in what God is doing in the world.

Focus: Berean missionaries, Steve & Jenny Meeker and
Dan & Bonnie Nelson, serve at a Christian camp near Zagreb,
Croatia. They need your help preparing for next year’s camp
season. You will help with hands on work projects and also
spend time with Berean missionaries, Mihal and Lydia Kreko,

Focus: A variety of skills are needed on this trip including:
medical professionals, counselors, teachers, IT specialists, youth
workers and people with building experience. Potential projects
include teaching early childhood education to childcare workers,
home visits, working to build memory books with HIV/AIDS
support groups, working in small health clinics, and helping with
sustainable agricultural programs for World Relief.

Focus: Work with the Children’s Shelter of Cebu, Children’s
Garden in Antipolo and Berean missionary partners John & Jan
Baxter. Experience firsthand the battle these children have faced
by being abandoned, orphaned or surrendered. Whether it is the
boys who were rescued from life on the streets in Antipolo City or
the special needs children abandoned at CSC, your heart will be
touched and changed forever. Join the team in sharing the love of
Jesus Christ with children in need.

Focus: Missions cruises offer a wide variety of cross-cultural
ministry opportunities with safe, comfortable accommodations.
Ministry opportunities are available throughout the Caribbean,
both on the ship and at ports of call.

JUNIOR HIGH
LAKE TRAVERSE RESERVATION, SOUTH DAKOTA
June 27 – July 2, 2010
Cost: $350

Focus: Seventh graders will be heading west to the Lake
Traverse Reservation in Sisseton, SD. We will have many
opportunities to show God’s love as we help with kid’s clubs,
visit elderly residents and do work projects throughout the
community. Don’t be nervous, this is a great “first time”
missions trip if you have never done one before. Be prepared
to work hard, have fun and experience God at work in
another culture.

August 7 – August 13, 2010

Focus: Eighth graders will be traveling to the windy city to show
God’s love to the poor and homeless of inner-city Chicago.
Nothing else you do this summer will come close to the
adventure of spending a week in downtown Chicago. As we
witness to the homeless, serve in soup kitchens, and learn about
all the different cultures in Chicago, this trip is guaranteed to
push you outside of your comfort zone! Come be a part of
God’s mission to the poor and needy.

MEXICO CITY
June 12-20, 2010

Focus: Epic Student Ministries goes south of the border
for nine days of intense cross-cultural service and
outreach! We partner with Berean missionaries Stu and
Cristina Grewatz to share the love and message of Jesus
Christ in Mexico City. Come and experience
one of the largest cities in the world,
get a sense of the rich Mexican culture,
and see what it is like to be used by
God in a foreign land. Spanish language
skills are helpful, but not necessary—
all are welcome! This trip is limited
to 20 students so hurry and

Focus: SEMP is an exciting five-day event hosted in the
heart of the amazing city of Chicago. SEMP stands for
“students equipped to minister to peers”, it is designed for
teens that want to go deeper in their relationship with God
and who are serious about sharing their faith with their
friends. Every morning during SEMP you receive great
training on how to share your faith and in the afternoon you
practice what you are learning through real-world outreach
opportunities throughout the city.
