Conjugations of Japanese copula/verbs/adjectives short forms
- 1. Copula Long Short Non-past です だ* じゃありません じゃない でした だった Past じゃありませんでした じゃなかった * this だ is sometimes omitted
- 2. Using the Copula (noun + copula) Examples: Long Short Non-past 犬 です。 犬 だ。 犬 じゃありません。 犬 じゃない。 犬 でした。 犬 だった。 Past 犬 じゃありませんでした。 犬 じゃなかった。
- 3. な – adjectives Long Short Non-past しずか です しずか だ* しずか でした しずか だった しずか じゃありません しずか じゃない Past しずか じゃありませんでした しずか じゃなかった * this だ is sometimes omitted
- 4. い – adjectives Long Short ながい です ながい Non-past ながく ない です ながく ない ながく ありません ながかった です ながかった Past ながく なかった です ながく なかった ながく ありません でした
