Shetland Sheep

Shetland sheep evolved from Northern European short-tailed sheep brought to the Shetland Islands by Vikings around 1000 years ago. They resemble Icelandic sheep and have long wool and an undercoat that provides insulation from cold, wet weather. Shetland sheep mainly graze on grass, food pellets, or hay and do best with open areas and long grass.
