Where I liveOur community  ----from my floor, the 13th floorMy community lies near the center of the city. It is a high-ranking community. It has a club at one entrance of the community. All the buildings are high buildings. As it shows in the top picture, I lives on the 13th floor, but it is not the top floor. Most buildings have 18 floors.Our community also has an outdoor swimming pool. It is showed later.

The rainy daysThe pictures were taken on August 4th,2011, just two days before the typhoon would come. Such a heavy rain.Look at the “river”.
June 18, 2011.Because of the heavy rain, people could “enjoy” waterfall when passed by.
BreakfastJust a part of the morning market.We have many sellers. They sell different food. This is the time for the breakfast, so we have many kinds of breakfast to eat if we don’t want to eat at home.Another seller, whose food is my favorite breakfast.One shop selling breakfast
MarketThis is a market. We have market everyday. Every seller offer some fresh vegetables, fishes, eggs, meats, chickens, flour-made products, soy-made products, and some other products every day, and the market opens every day.
TransportationA bus centerInside of the bus (from the back)Buses are the main transportation for our trip. Certainly, we have other transportations, such as underground (or called subway?) , taxis and bicycles.

Yu Garden (or Yuyuan Garden)Yu Garden (or Chenghuang Temple) is one of the familiar place to most Shanghai people.  It holds many traditional activities, such as it keeps its style since it had been built. The place has many traditional elements.This is the Zigzag BridgePavilion, a place for resting and enjoying tea. Many old person come here and talk to each other----a method for life.

Somewhere to EatYu Garden has lots of customs everyday, so it has some good places to eat.These are the two of famous restaurants.It is the most famous restaurant in the Yu Garden. It offers meal. Another famous restaurant near is outside the Yu Garden.One of the famous Snack bar
ShoppingMost Shanghai people go to Yu Garden for eating and shopping. You can by most interesting items here, such as fans, Chinese traditional clothes, and small mirrors.
CrowdedCrowdedAnd crowdedThere are still some small shops nearby, but they are crowded. My feeling is, if you come in, it is hard to find your direction. Every shop are fulfilled, and some walkways in the shop even hard to allow two people walking together. The buildings are also fulfilled with shops, so don’t need to remember the direction. You can buy small stuffs there, but I never buy clothes there.

Other famous placesThe BundThe Bund is located at the west coast of the Huangpu River. Since 1845, the Bund became the concession of Britain and France. It accepted the earliest changes. West countries set up trade system, and many trade center were settled here. At that time, the Bund was called Oriental Wall Street.Fifty-two different styles of buildings were built on the Bund, and they are still there.The middle one shows the Bund 18.
Lu JiaZuiLu JiaZui is located at the east coast of the Huangpu River. Before 1990, Lu JiaZui was crowded with factories and warehouse. In 1990, Lu JiaZui was ordered to be developed. Since then, many foreign banks set their headquarters here, and many foreign financial institutions have offices here. Lu JiaZui is the financial center of Shanghai. It is just opposite the Bund.The Oriental Pearl TV Tower Of Shanghai is one of the destination of Lu JiaZui.
