At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
a)To understand the importance of cooperation in building a
strong community and develop awareness about the needs and
challenges within the community.
b) To be aware of what is happening within the community.
c) To address cultural issues and community needs that identify
within the community.

● Community Awareness refers to the
understanding, knowledge, and
consciousness that individuals within a
community have regarding various
aspects of their shared environment,
including social, cultural, economic, and
environmental elements.

involves mutual assistance, collaboration,

Activity: Picture Analysis
Direction: Analyze the picture and identify what
the picture shows. After that, answer the
questions.
Question Process:
1. What does the picture show?
2. What is the meaning of bayanihan
spirit?
3. What does "cooperation" mean to you?
4. Share personal experiences or
observations of the outcomes when there is
cooperation in carrying out a task.

Activity: “Human Knot"
• Divide the class into 2 groups.
• Stand in a circle, facing each other.
• Then reach across the circle with both
hands and grab hold of someone else’s
hand.
• The challenge is to untangle the knot
without letting go of each other's hands.
Question Process:
1. Did your group easily untangle the knot?
2. What did your group do to easily untangle
your hands? Do you have any strategies
made to accomplish the task?
3. How did cooperation help your group
complete the tasks assigned to you?

Activity: “Community Awareness"
Directions:
1. Each of you will be given two sticky notes.
2. On one sticky note, you must write down one
thing you love about your community while on
the other sticky note, you must write down one
challenge or issue that you think needs attention.
3. After that, post it on the blackboard under the
respective categories.

1. Are you aware of what is happening in your
community?
2. What are the issues that are usually
experienced in one community?
3. Why is it important for us to be aware of what is
happening in our community?
4. What can you do to address the problems in
your community and maintain its positive
aspects?
