This document discusses agricultural pollution control in Serbia. It notes that 64.6% of Serbia's total territory is used for cultivation, mainly growing crops like wheat, maize, sunflower, sugar beet and fruits. One of the main sources of agricultural pollution is fertilizer use, with application rates ranging from 250-285 kg/hectare/year in the 1980s to under 100 kg/hectare/year recently. Pesticide use also contributed to pollution, ranging from 3 kg/hectare/year in the 1980s to 1 kg/hectare/year currently. Legislation and plans have been introduced to help control agricultural pollution in Serbia.
