This document provides information on sentence structure, including simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences. It defines each type of sentence and provides examples. A simple sentence contains one subject and one predicate. A compound sentence contains two or more independent clauses joined with a conjunction. A complex sentence contains one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses. A compound-complex sentence is a combination of compound and complex sentences.
