This research proposal aims to examine the relationship between self-directed learning readiness and life satisfaction among older adults. The study will assess these two variables in older adults living in two different residential settings using standardized instruments. Specifically, the Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale will measure readiness for self-directed learning and the Salamon-Conte Life Satisfaction in the Elderly Scale will measure life satisfaction. The study hypothesizes that higher levels of self-directed learning readiness will correlate with greater life satisfaction. Insights from the study could help understand how education contributes to quality of life for older adults.
