The Segre River flows through Catalonia from north to south, originating in France and emptying into the Cinca River. It passes through several important towns, including Seu d'Urgell where rafting is popular, and Balaguer which hosts a rafting competition called Transsegre. The river supports diverse flora and fauna and irrigates agricultural areas in Lleida before reaching its final destination of Mequinenza on the border of Aragon.
