The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) is the financial regulatory agency whose objectives are to develop a modern and efficient corporate sector and capital market based on sound regulatory principles to encourage investment and foster economic growth. SECP regulates companies, non-banking financial institutions, insurance companies and capital markets. It is divided into four divisions - Company Law, Securities Market, Specialized Companies, and Insurance - with departments focused on registration, enforcement, supervision and policy development. The overall goals are to protect investors, develop the corporate sector and economy, and provide a fair regulatory framework based on international standards.
