The recruit will undergo 1-2 weeks of intense marine training where they will be called for sessions every 1-2 days. They must inform their instructor in advance if they cannot make a session or need to leave early, and if there is a real emergency they can leave but will have double the work at the next session. After completing the training, the recruit will receive a notecard indicating if they passed or failed, with an 85% pass rate.
