EXPERIENCE:
Growing up in Abilene, Texas my father taught me the integrity to ‘go the extra mile’ in customer service.
Spending all of every summer on Papa’s farm in Eastland, Texas, I’ve been operating a tractor since I could
push in the clutch. I readily learned to fix most any mechanical apparatus including earth tooling implements.
At age fifteen I began to frame custom homes, got married and moved to Lubbock, Texas where James
“Buddy” Hunnicutt taught me to shoot grade, stake-off, tie steel, pour footings and set forms on custom homes.
Soon I began drawing unique floor plans, setting forms and framing of wood and/or metal.Proficient at cutting
roofs, stairs and radii. Trim carpentry on custom homes was interesting (and fun) especially when I moved to
Dallas, Texas working on a home near Emmitt Smith’s home in Addison,Texas. Wanting to help a friend install
some laminate on store countertops at Town East mall, for six years traveled from Laredo to Tulsa, Oklahoma;
from West Texas to Baton Rouge, Louisiana installing cabinets, trim, doors and hardware as lead carpenter-
assistant superintendent answering phones & coordinating all other trades.
2000 in Lubbock, I began lead carpenter/assistant superintendent for the largest contractor in the state.
Buddy’s experience was paramount as I learned to add bolt-pattern placements, operating everything from
Bob-Cat to Sky-Trac even Link-Belt cranes.Verifying city code and A.D.A. compliance I conducted O.S.H.A.
safety meetings weekly and kept all my crews times.
Moates custom millworks we did grocery store checkout counters which include doors, drawers, access
panels and scanner angles. Paint, laminate and vinyl with stainless steel corner guards and bumper trims.
I’ve done so many remodels to be excellent at troubleshooting plumbing AND electrical problems. Repairs,
replacements and new installs.
