Sean worked as a mechatronics engineering intern at Magzor over the summer of 2015. He was given complex projects to migrate Magzor's IDE to new platforms. Sean quickly ported libraries to the Intel Edison platform and then successfully moved it to the more complex Arduino platform. He also developed the foundations of Magzor's EZ2C application. Due to his exceptional work, Magzor has retained Sean to work for them whenever his schedule allows. The president states that Sean is an outstanding technical employee and excellent team player who delivered an incredible amount of high quality work during his internship. He strongly recommends Sean as an exceptional engineer.
Repeating the "Quality Debate" @ Agile Gurugram 2019 ConferenceVishal Prasad
My presentation slides from the Agile Gurugram 2019 Conference. Here I discuss the value of quality and how dysfunctions may affect it.
Every team is focused towards delivering quality, no one wakes up in the morning with an idea to introduce defects, we naturally ideate to solve problems. Unknowingly though, dysfunctions always creep in and identifying a dysfunction is extremely difficult especially when you are a part of the dysfunction. The context of defect severity and how these may create an illusion of quality; how accountability of a single person (e.g.: Product Owner) may result in a "Lack of Commitment" dysfunction; and how cost is not proportional to quality especially when it comes to delivering virtual products and services related to it.

Session Title : A "Quality" Debate - Rethinking the mindset for non-negotiable Quality in Software Products
Session Overview : One of the key reasons for embracing agility is faster feedback which helps improve the perceived quality of a software product. And every team is focused towards delivering quality, no one wakes up in the morning with an idea to introduce defects, we naturally ideate to solve problems. Unknowingly though, dysfunctions always creep in and identifying a dysfunction is extremely difficult especially when you are a part of the dysfunction.
In this 45 min talk, discussion is about the importance of quality and how it's no longer negotiable even if Project Management principles tell us otherwise. Stories from past experience, and from organisations ranging from GM to Mumbai Dabbawalas that have embraced the "Quality is not Negotiable" principle and seen the difference.
I present the context of defect severity and how these may create an illusion of quality; how accountability of a single person (e.g.: Product Owner) may result in a "Lack of Commitment" dysfunction; and how cost is not really proportional to quality especially when it comes to delivering virtual products and services related to it.

How To Do Kick-Ass Software DevelopmentSven Peters
With Kick-Ass Software Development you actually get stuff done. Feedback cycles are short, code quality is awesome and customers get the features they lust after. Less mangers managing, less testers testing and less IT-operators operating. The developers take the power back, making them much happier. Sound like paradise? It is! This session will show you how we do Kick-Ass Software Development at Atlassian.
I talk about how we: use pull requests for better code quality; collaborate fast to develop ideas; avoid meetings to get more stuff done; tighten our feedback loops to fail faster; shorten our release cycles; and work together happily on different continents. It's a great way to develop software and we think it can work in your company, too.

EVERYTHING WORTH THE PRIZE IS WORTH THE FIGHT!
It’s easy to have FAITH everything is going to work out, when everything IS working out.
It’s much harder to have faith when you are facing challenges in your life. But that is exactly when you need to apply your faith.
Because faith is believing in the unseen. Faith is taking the first step. Faith is jumping in the deep end and KNOWING everything will be OK.
It’s easy to be positive when everything is working out… It’s much harder, much much harder when nothing is working out…. But that’s when we need it the most.
Everything worth the prize will require a real fight to achieve that prize.
If you want the prize you can’t quit at half time. You can’t quit mid season. You must play the whole game. Pre season, through the cold, through darkness, through the challenges, the opponents.
You will be knocked down… but you MIST GET UP. KEEP FIGHTING. DIG DEEP and discover your true STRENGTH.
Then you will win the real prize:
->CHARACTER.
->EXPANSION.
->YOU rising to the next level.

Re: Sean Letzer
To whom it may concern,
Sean worked at Magzor over the summer of 2015 as a mechatronics engineering intern; he was
entering the last year of his degree and wanted some practical experience. Sean was set a quite
complex project: to migrate the Magzor IDE from a small board computer to the Intel Edison platform.
The internship project was for a self-starter who would take the remit of what needed to be done and
“walk away and get on with it” with minimal supervision.
Sean quickly and readily go to work essentially had ported our libraries over within a couple of
weeks. His implementation, as well as being quick, was very thorough and stable. We therefore asked
him to continue onto the Arduino platform. This was a much more complex task as it required moving
from architecture with a relatively large amount of memory to an MCU. Sean succeeded in this task too,
with time to spare. Hence, we gave him a further task to implement the foundations of our EZ2C
application. This application takes an MDP build and produces the source code for the user such that
they can start programming their mechatronics system without care for libraries or mapping. Yet again
Sean excelled and produced a beta version of the software
At the time of writing this reference Sean is back at University finishing his degree but we have him
retained to work for us whenever he has bandwidth. This is a testament to the exceptional capability of
this individual. We have never before offered such a deal to an intern, but in the case of Sean we found
him to be so exceptional and useful that we found it necessary to keep him on at the company.
Technically, Sean managed to deliver an incredible amount of work in a 3 month period. Sean’s
approach was systematic, ensuring that there was logic behind software architecture design decisions
he made. This approach allowed Sean to produce code that is now used by other team members and
interns at Magzor and may ultimately lead to product.
In addition to his outstanding technical skills, Sean has proven to be an excellent team player. He has
been an asset in aiding the general development of product that we manufacture. Sean has a very keen
eye on the end product, it’s utility and develops to that goal.
As an engineer and manager of many employees over the years, it is with total confidence that I can
recommend Sean as an exceptional engineer and individual. Indeed I would put Sean into the top tier of
engineers and scientist that one would have the pleasure to meet and work with.
