An odd group of characters working at an airport security checkpoint mixed with an odd
array of passengers passing through. At the checkpoint security is the focus, but whose
focused on security?
Pitch paragraph
As a security officer at the Griffin Regional Airport, LUKE is trying to shake a small
gambling habit that is slowly destroying his life while his ex-girlfriend is slowly slipping
into the hands of the wrong guy. Working at the checkpoint only makes things worse.
Synopsis
Act 1 summary
In the small town of Griffin, Georgia, the Griffin Regional Airport keeps the town afloat.
At the security checkpoint everybody has a story. LUKE is trying to win back his ex-
girlfriend, who works at the airport diner to give him a chance. His best friend WILL is
unsure on how to handle his bedroom issue. MR. GRIFFIN, the oldest living member of
the Griffin family in which the city is named and the owner of the airport is trying to keep
the doors open in the mist of illegal activity. Fareed, an angry member of the a radical
Islamic group finds out his past is at all what he thought.
Act 2 summary
As Luke tries to control his small gambling problem he also has to win his ex-girlfriend
back. Mona is now dating the nephew of the owner of the airport and that presents an
entirely different situation. Luke owes money to the one person that is standing in the
way of him rekindling his relationship with Mona. As the checkpoint opens for passenger
screening, the officers are faced with many situations that cause interruptions and
distraction. A very flamboyant preacher comes through the checkpoint and causes a
stir. A never ending bag check turns out to be the unthinkable and the bag checker is
no push over.
A new officer turns up the heat on the checkpoint and everyone is taking notice. The
private screening room is private but very little screening is performed behind the glass.
Illegal activity is taking place on the checkpoint and Mr. Griffin is trying to get to the

2. bottom of things. In some cases things just aren't what they seem and people aren't who
you think they are.
Act 3 summary
Mr. Griffin reveals a long held secret and finds out whose behind the illegal activity at
the airport. LUKE and MONA lend a helping hand to Mr. Griffin and end up back
together. The checkpoint is put on a new path toward success and it seems as if the
doors just might stay open after all.
