Two police sergeants visit a family home to inform the parents that their children were killed in a car accident earlier that morning. The sergeants sit the distraught parents down and regretfully notify them that Gary and Trudy passed away after being in a collision. The sergeants apologize for the tragic news before quietly taking their leave.

Officers remove hat depressively.
SARGENT 1
We are so sorry for you to hear this, please sit.
Officers walk in slowly but surely and sit down.
RUPERT
What’s this about fellas?
SARGENT 2
We’re so sorry for you to hear this but your children where in an accident.
FIONA
What do you mean?
RUPERT
Are they ok?
RUPERT weeps quietly.
SARGENT 1
They were in a collision.
SARGENT 2
And sadly passed away early hours this morning.
SARGENT 1
Gary and Trudy will be taken to the crematorium tomorrow.
RUPERT + FIONA
Oh no, this is horrible.
FIONA
Tell me it’s not true?

2. SARGENT 2
I’m so sorry Mr and Mrs Peppercorn.
Both sergeants leave quietly but quickly.
