This document describes the development and key features of the SCORE2 risk prediction algorithms. SCORE2 was created to predict cardiovascular disease risk in European populations. It uses data from 12 European cohort studies involving over 200,000 individuals to predict 10-year risk of fatal cardiovascular disease. SCORE2 risk estimates are based on age, sex, smoking status, systolic blood pressure, and total cholesterol.
