11.
Played around with delays.
Also added delays for Paper/Cover.
Additionally noticed paper/cover production
massively exceeded demand, so reduced.
Results?
Well, Rome wasn’t…
12.
Not enough goods.
Not enough storage capacity.
Not enough goods…
You know the routine
15.
Noticed Book Maker had over 4 times needed
storage space.
Noticed paper similar.
Cover as well.
Reduced both to 7,000.
Tweaked delays…again.
Reducing:
20.
Had simulation glitches randomly when refreshing,
despite using Chrome.
Balancing is a royal pain.
Would play as an actual game, if there was an actual
in-game (rather than self-set) goal to achieve in it.
Overall thoughts:
Editor's Notes
I’m a writer, so I created a fictional company called Reader Lovers Incorporated, who make books.
That’s me!
I did some basic research to get a decent idea of what I think these things are supposed to be like, though I’m uncertain of my accuracy.
Storm Lake ShopInk supplier. (Why not?) Paper in forested location, Cover just randomly placed nearby.
The shop’s approximately where the new(ish) Jack in the Box currently is, right now.
It took me a couple tries just to get THIS far.
Instantaneous travel!
Well, at least we gained ground…
Something that became all too familiar…
Why always those two?!?
Supplied in a day, as the saying goes.
After playing around a bit, I finally got somewhere.
…That somewhere being the same failure from the other one. You’d think I’d have learned, but no.
Which is past what it needed to be. The assignment even said not to exceed 30, but I let it run until failure. 37 days, and failing at book store (exceeding).
I forgot to record my 20-day total cost between all my facilities.
Set delay time to be the same as it was, but reduced speed of the truck by 5 kmph, as an experiment.
As previously stated, I forgot to record the initial total cost for all the statistics. D’oh!
I likely could have taken it even further, too, but decided that this was good enough.
If I had taken my simulation further, after reducing costs to the lowest they could be in 20 days, I would have added a second product to the facility, “comic books”, and perhaps another store, to simulate a business expanding into new ventures. I decided that was beyond a feasible timescale, however.
