This document provides management details for three current cataloging projects funded by the CIS-IRM pool at the Smithsonian Institution Libraries (SIL). It outlines progress made in FY2012 on cataloging serials holdings from the Freer-Sackler library and the Archives of American Art, as well as preparation of materials from the Freer-Sackler library for digitization. Updates provided include the number of titles and volumes cataloged for each project and improvements to discovery and lending. Contact information is also included.
The document summarizes the IDeA Program, which includes several components aimed at supporting biomedical research in US states that historically receive lower levels of NIH funding. The key components are the Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) program, which provides funding to establish multidisciplinary research centers focused on a specific scientific theme and mentoring junior researchers; the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program, which supports statewide networks; and the IDeA Clinical and Translational Research program. Examples are provided of specific COBRE centers established in Oklahoma that have helped increase biomedical research funding and capacity in the state.
This document summarizes irrigation water usage and costs under different weather conditions. It shows the irrigation demand, water collected, and monthly water bills for drought, excess rain, and normal conditions. Capturing rainfall reduces monthly bills by $443-828 depending on conditions. Over 30 years, using captured rainwater would save $682-6,856 compared to the cost of installation, with normal conditions providing the highest profit.
This document contains fiscal data for FY07 including:
1) Appropriations, expenses, and balances by fund/point totaling over $2 million. Expenses were around 85% of funds.
2) Trial balance showing appropriations and balances by administration, business services, and securities funds totaling over $2 million.
3) Payroll data by fund/center including over $730,000 in salaries for enforcement, loan broker, and enhance access dedicated accounts and $85,000 for HAVA funds.
This document analyzes the irrigation water demand and potential savings from water capture for three different weather conditions: drought, excess rain, and normal. It calculates the yearly irrigation water demand as 552,509 gallons and models the monthly water bills and savings that could result from using captured rainwater instead of municipal water under each condition. The greatest potential savings are seen under excess rain conditions, where monthly bills could be reduced by up to $698.88 annually using captured water.
David M. Schreck, MD, FACEP, FACP, FHM , Chairman, Department of Emergency Medicine at Summit Medical Group provided this presentation on health care trends as part of a community lecture series on the Berkeley Heights, NJ campus. The presentation explains the impact on patient care and how to navigate the system.
1) The document analyzes trends in deposits at Banco Nuevo Mundo between 1999-2000 in both Peruvian currency and US dollars, comparing the bank to the broader banking system.
2) It shows that deposits at the bank, especially state deposits, sharply declined starting in August 2000.
3) This was due to an abrupt withdrawal of state deposits from the bank totaling $19.1 million US dollars, reflecting financial panic amid an inspection of the bank by banking regulators from August to October 2000.
As the impact of healthcare reform on the U.S. delivery system comes into focus, there is little doubt that it is a “game changer” for clinical engineering and biomedical equipment technology. Carol will describe and discuss the future of the CE and BMET professions under new regulations and a new payment system. She will address why medical devices will cost much more, why equipment must have longer life cycles, why CEs and BMETs will and must have more involvement in IT-related activities, how CEs’ and BMETs’ responsibilities in regulatory compliance will expand and how you can prepare for this new environment.

The document discusses several topics related to museum administration and funding, including:
1. Sources of funding for museums can include public funds, sales of goods/services, grants, contributions, and investments. Funding sources have been shifting with public funds declining as a proportion of income.
2. Organizational worth can be determined by reviewing financial documents like the balance sheet which shows assets and liabilities.
3. Annual budgets can be planned through incremental or zero-based budgeting. The process involves estimating costs, comparing to available funds, and implementing the approved budget.
4. Income and expenditures are managed through cash or accrual accounting systems with regular financial reporting and controls.
Using A Local Erms To Manage EjournalsPolly Khater
The document discusses the Smithsonian Institution Libraries (SIL) and their management of electronic journals. It provides details on SIL's collection strengths and services, expenditures on print and electronic journals over time, and workflows for selection, licensing, cataloging and maintaining access to ejournals. It also lists pros and cons of using an in-house developed A-Z list to provide access to ejournals, rather than a commercial link resolver service.

Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.
