There is a village in northern Romania near Gura Humorului that was exclusively inhabited by Poles who settled there hundreds of years ago, though now only 200 Poles remain. Most Poles left Romania after World War I and in 1947, as the Romanian language is now only spoken during parties and with Romanian guests, while Polish children must go to school 5 km away in Humor Monastery village since their local school closed due to having too few students.
