EMBA	Field	Trip
EMBA	Field	Trip	2016
• IMD	has	created	a	joint	eMBA programmewith	one	of	the	top
Chinese	MBA	schools. A	field	trip	to	South	Africa	is	planned	for
the	eMBA class	of	2016	(20	students)	(half	from	Europe	and
half	from	China),	which	is	taking	place	from	17	January	to	23
January	2016.	The	students	will	be	based	at	the	Balalaika
Sandtonfor	the	week	and	will	also	be	visiting	various
commercial	organisations around	Johannesburg	as	well	as	a
platinum	mine.
• The Professorleading the trip,	Phil Rosenzweig,	wouldreally
like the students to	get	under the skin	of	some South
African/African businesses to	truly understandthe
opportunities and	challenges that they face and	how these may
differ fromsimilar organisations elsewhere in	the world.
• We currently have sessions booked with host companies fora
presentation/chat/tourwith executives,	that have a	grasp of
the real issues and	are	willing and	able to	engage with a	bunch
of	bright executive MBA	candidates in	a	discussion about their
business.
