Is the Government Doing Enough to
Discussion Prevent the Spread of Swine Flu?
Your investigation will focus around the use of the catch it, kill
Conclusion it, bin it campaign. Is this method effective or do we need to be
issued with face masks in the same way as some other
countries are?
Planning the Investigation
You will work in small groups of three or four depending on the numbers in the class.
Each of you will have to submit an individual report but you can work together on the
planning and preparing the report and investigation.
You have been provided with some relevant literature on experimental technique and
access to a college laptop. Before Thursdays lesson you need to have a rough plan of
what it is you are going to investigate. By the end of today you should be able to show me
an hypothesis, risk assessment and method for your investigation.
If you completed last weeks homework, you have already written the first draft of your
introduction to the investigation!
Your independent assignment for this lesson is to begin writing up your investigative
report with your planned sections and re-drafting your introduction as the feedback
requires.
The completed report will be due in on Monday, after you have obtained your results.
