3. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of
atonement, through the shedding of
his blood – to be received by faith. He
did this to demonstrate his justice,
because in his forbearance he had left
the sins committed before hand
unpunished –
Romans 3:25
4. Whom God put forward [before the eyes
of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by
His blood [the cleansing and life-giving
sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation,
to be received] through faith. This was to
show God's righteousness, because in His
divine forbearance He had passed over
and ignored former sins without
punishment.
Romans 3:25
5. Whom God hath set forth to be
a propitiation through faith in
his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission
of sins that are past, through
the forbearance of God;
Romans 3:25
