What is DISC?
Carl Jung: 1875 - 1961.

• A well renowned Swiss psychiatrist who was an influential thinker and founder
of analytical psychology known as Jungian psychology.

• Jung theorised the four individual factors:
          Sensing
           Intuition
           Feeling
          Thinking
• This formed the foundation of the four quadrant model

Moulton Marston: 1893 – 1947
• American Psychologist who also created the Lie Detector and the “Wonder Woman”!

• Marston viewed people behaving along two axes; with their attention being
either passive or active depending on the individual’s perception of his/her
environment as either favourable or antagonistic.

• By placing the axes at right angles, four quadrants form with each describing
a behavioural pattern. This four quadrant model was called DISC
4

  The Four DISC Styles

                • Each of the DISC styles like to be communicated to,
managed and motivated in distinct ways.

                • Each have their own psychological need, act
differently under stress and have different emotional
triggers. It takes time, effort and regular practice,
but if you are conscious of it, then you can take
immediate steps to enhance your ability to deal with
                    people.

                • When you become very experienced in using DISC
1. Dominance then you can make quantum leaps in rapport
2. Influence building, sales, management, even personal
relationships – any area of your life that involves
3. Steadiness interacting with another person
4. Compliance

So, how will you do all this?
Get your Extended DISC Assessment Now!

Extended DISC is a language. But it’s not like English or French.
It’s the silent language of human behaviour and communication - like
the unseen code which is runs through the Matrix.
You may not realise it right now, but this language (spoken or not)
has been a part of every interaction that you have ever had with
another human being. And it will be for the rest of your life.
13

Analysis methodology
• The data is collected by using a forced choice method, where one is
asked to choose between different external stimuli. While answering, one
reacts to two different stimuli, which are repeated 24 times, and all
 together there are 48 responses.

• The conclusion is based on a logical answering pattern to both stimuli, as
well as comparing the patterns of each.

• The report describes your natural behavioural style. It is the behavioural
style that takes the least energy and effort, requires the least amount of
concentration, and is usually the most pleasant to us. It is the mode that
we normally use to react, when there is no time to rationalize.

• Our natural behavioural style is especially emphasized under pressure
situations, when our ability to adjust our behaviour has been
 compromised.
14

Benefits of the Student Report
• The Student Assessment describes your "natural behavioural style“

• It helps us to communicate, understand our differences and develop ourselves
  further.

• The purpose of this report and workbook is to give you additional information,
provoke some self-examination and to help and support you in your journey of
  self-development.

• The Student Assessment focuses in helping you recognize your natural
  behavioural strengths and motivators.

• It helps you gain a better understanding of your own natural behavioural style and
  its influence on learning.

• The report is also helpful when trying to decide a field for future career path.
15

What The Student Report Does Not Do
• It is important to know, that the Student Assessment is not
a TEST. It does not provide results that classify people
into good-bad categories and the system does not rank
 people in any way

• It does not measure one’s entire personality, and it
shouldn’t be used for that purpose. Neither does it
measure occupational skills, learned knowledge or life
experience that you have accumulated so far

• It does not limit a person’s possibilities to develop in any
 direction or work environment.
16
