Objectives
• To lead safe and highly effective training sessions.
• To motivate through actions as well as words.
• To educate people through the minefield of misinformation, towards a successful lifestyle of fat loss and a positive outlook on life in
general.
Industry Specific Experience/Accomplishments
Withdean Sports Complex
• In charge of the on-going maintenance and upkeep of the MyRide® cycle studio with it’s 28 bikes
• In charge of the fitness training program for 12-16 year olds in the gym.
Metabolic Solution
• Involved in the day-to-day organisation of class structure, instruction, marketing, development and effective growth of the business.
• Increased volume of classes by 300% over a 6-month period.
• Implementation of a periodized Spinning® programme including accurate lactate threshold testing.
• Implemented a highly successful heart rate training programme, which included highly profitable after-sales of heart rate chest straps
and monitors.
• Implemented a series of TRX® Suspension Training System workshops for clients that also had successful after-sales of TRX® units.
• Boosted revenue through long-term customer contracts.
• Highlighted individual clients’ through online training videos.
• Increased the profile of the business through social media.
King Alfred Leisure Centre
• I developed a highly successful Spinning® programme which grew from it’s introduction to the club to 10 classes each week with a 10
day waiting list for each class.
Coral Health & Fitness Club
• While at Coral, I provided practical education for a number of students in a nationally recognised training programme to qualify them
as fitness instructors. This was over a 3-year period.
• Alongside this, I also worked in conjunction with local secondary schools to provide hands-on work experience for 14 – 16 year olds.
• I progressed from part-time instructor to Gym Manager with a 6-month period as General Manager. I was responsible for a team of 30
members of staff.
Other
• To enhance my teaching skills, I have attended the World Spinning® & Sports Conference 5 times.
• Over the past 15 years, I have been an active moderator on a fitness forum.
• I am a very active event organiser for Cancer Research UK on a voluntary basis. I have organised large scale Spinning® events and
have also completed the London Marathon twice. For 2015, I am planning a fitness festival that will include approximately 30 fitness
classes in one day along with entertainment & activities for children. The goals are to raise the profile of Withdean Sports Complex in
the city and to raise approx. £15,000 for Cancer Research UK.
• In the future, I want to become qualified as a Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner & Life Coach as I can see the opportunities and needs for
this with so many people.
• I also wish to qualify the Level 4 course, ”Obesity & Diabetes” due to the rapidly increasing levels of people being diagnosed. I feel
that I can contribute to rectifying this problem through sympathetic education and motivation.
