WELCOME
For many years, scaffolders and contractors have struggled to find a sheeting system that gives
both temporary weather protection & containment to an acceptable level. Sheeting has always
proved to be a bit ‘hit and miss’ with even the best products falling short of giving full protection
and easily damaged by bad weather.
Rhino supply and install a robust ‘shrink-to-fit’ sheeting system which we engineer for the
toughest construction projects.
Scaffold shrink wrapping is a specialised trade. I hope the advice and resources we provide will
help you to make the right decision regarding encapsulation & containment on your next project.

Preventing Weather Delays
Bad weather can be a headache for project managers. Whether paying
workers whilst they are waiting for the next ‘weather window’ or
financial penalties for missing deadlines, delays are costly.
Conventional sheeting is typically attached to the scaffolding using
elasticated bungee cords. This method is acceptable for short term,
low risk projects but over time traditional products tend to become
loose and may even detach altogether.
At Rhino we supply & install a fully recyclable shrink wrap sheeting
system which creates a ‘drum tight’ wrap around scaffolds of any size
or shape. Contractors who are concerned about avoiding delays use
Rhino shrink wrap because it creates 100% encapsulation and full
weather protection which will not flap and detach, even in the harshest
of weather conditions.
Shrink wrap is heat shrunk ‘drum tight’
so that it wraps very tightly around the
scaffolding, which prevents flapping and
detachment.

WEATHERPROTECTION
Protecting Local Environments
For many projects, the containment of dust and debris is vital.
Whether shot blasting & painting or works in public areas, the
consequences of a failure in the containment sheeting can include
clean up costs, fines and damage to reputation.
‘Traditional’ sheeting for containment is usually installed in 2-3m wide
strips which are overlapped ‘lift by lift’ around the scaffolding and
attached using bungees. This allows dust and smaller debris to escape
between overlaps and the containment can be compromised altogether
if the sheeting detaches.
With Rhino shrink wrap cladding, joins are created by overlapping
sheets and heat welding them together. This heat seal method creates
a ‘continuously bonded skin’ around any size or shape scaffolding and
gives peace of mind that the project will remain fully encapsulated
throughout the duration of the works.

Minimising Community Impacts
Contractors are ever mindful of the need to minimize the impact of
construction activities on the local community. Often, building works
may need to be screened from local residents whilst maintaining a
smart & professional appearance to the work site.
Conventional ‘individual sheet’ scaffold cladding may be sufficient for
short term projects but tends to flap and may even detach altogether
when used longer term. Full graphic ‘building wraps’ provide an
extremely attractive covering but can be costly and does not provide
much weather protection or containment.
Because shrink wrap is heat shrunk ‘drum tight’, with heat sealed joints
between sheets, it creates a smart & professional cladding that moulds
very tightly around the scaffolding. This means that it will not flap
noisily or look unsightly, even on long term projects.
Shrink wrap sheeting provides a smart yet
cost effective alternative to conventional
scaffold sheeting and full graphic building
wraps.

SCAFFOLD SHRINK WRAP TRAINING
Many companies prefer to carry out the installation of shrink wrap
sheeting using ‘in house’ labour. Apart from providing a more robust
alternative to traditional weather protection and containment
sheeting products, the smart and professional appearance of shrink
wrap sheeting is a good way to promote and differentiate your
company from competitors.
Our shrink wrap training sessions are carried out by the most
experienced members of our installation teams, typically supervisors.
This means your team receive training in the practical real world skills
they need, not just theory. Training can be arranged for groups of any

WHY USE SHRINK WRAP SHEETING FOR SCAFFOLDS?
LOW MAINTENANCE
Because scaffold shrink wrap
is shrunk tightly around the
scaffolding it creates an
extremely robust cladding
that does not flap or ‘self
destruct’ in high winds.
This means less going back
to repair detached sheeting.
SMART & PROFESSIONAL
The ‘drum tight’ finish of Rhino
shrink wrap sheeting, creates a
‘continuously bonded skin’ over
and around anything it covers
which creates a very smart and
professional appearance.
VERSATILE
Ideal for creating effective
environmental containment or
weather protection. Shrink wrap
is particularly good at adapting
to awkward shapes as it can be
cut and heat welded ‘in situ’.

SCAFFOLD WRAPPING
Using shrink wrap scaffold sheeting creates a long lasting ‘continuously
bonded skin’ around a construction project.
The benefits of using shrink to fit scaffold cladding;
Robust – Because scaffold shrink wrap is shrunk ‘drum tight’ it does not
flap or ‘self destruct’ in high winds. Because bungee cords are not used to
attach shrink wrap sheeting to the scaffolding, it does not become loose
and saggy over time.
Effective - Welded joints between individual sheets of shrink wrap scaffold
sheeting create highly effective weather protection.
Versatile - Because it is a shrink to fit solution, which is cut and welded
‘in situ’ there is no restriction on the size and shape of the scaffolding
structure which can be covered.
100% Recyclable – Shrink wrap is a use once and recycle product.

SCAFFOLDWRAPPING
BLAST CONTAINMENT
A common application for shrink wrap sheeting is the full encapsulation
of bridges and other industrial structures to completely contain hazardous
residues during shot blasting and painting operations.
Fully encapsulating a work zone, also allows our customers to create a
temperature controlled and humidity controlled environment.
The benefits of using shrink wrap for full encapsulation and containment are;
Effective – Because individual sheets of shrink wrap are joined by heat
welding them together, this creates a sealed internal environment.
This means there are no holes or gaps which can occur with tarpaulins
or conventional scaffold cladding, resulting in 100% encapsulation and
containment.
Robust – Because shrink wrap does not require bungee cords to attach
it to the scaffolding structure and because it is heat shrunk tightly around
the scaffolding structure it will not detach in high winds and allow the
containment to be breached.
Versatile – Because shrink wrap sheeting is easily cut and heat welded
‘in-situ’, it is particularly suited to the most challenging of containment
projects.

INTERNAL PARTITIONS
Projects such as repairs to machinery, extensions and refits can create a
lot of dust and debris. Rhino temporary partitions and screens separate the
work environment from the construction zone, containing dust and debris,
and creating a smart & professional appearance.
The versatility of our temporary partitions and screens enables them to be
utilised in a variety of facilities such as commercial, retail and industrial.
The benefits of shrink wrapped internal partitions are;
Reduce Risk - When utilised in commercial and retail environments,
customers feel safe and valuable stock is protected. When temporary
partitions are erected in industrial facilities, costly risks associated with
product contamination and recalls are eliminated.
Custom - By customising your temporary factory partition with access
doors, Rhino’s temporary partitions not only protect against dust and
debris, but also helps maintain normal work routines.
Smart & professional – The drum tight finish of Rhino scaffold shrink
wrap sheeting, which is shrunk tight around the scaffold structure can look
much more professional than traditional solutions, (especially if the
scaffolding structure has been built with scaffold wrapping in mind).

TEMPORARY ROOFS
Shrink wrap sheeting can also be used as a cladding for temporary roofs
in order to provide weather protection or ‘environmental containment’ to
construction projects, thus ensuring projects are not delayed by adverse
weather conditions.
The benefits of using shrink wrap sheeting for temporary roofs are;
Versatile - shrink wrap is particularly suitable for smaller or awkwardly
shaped roofs.
Lightweight - approximately 0.30Kg/m2
