Campus Dining at Northern Arizona University, with help from students led by Zach Fader and Residential Life staff, piloted a reusable container program called e2GO at the GreenScene café to test reducing single-use disposables. Prior research done by Fader and communicating with other Sodexo sites informed the program. Students educated customers and staff about the program and helped 100 people sign up during a one-week pilot. The pilot allowed refinement of operations and advertising to change social norms around reusable items. Plans include a larger fall campaign selling containers for drinks and to-go meals with discounts.

DevOps, containers & microservices: Separating the hype from the realityDonnie Berkholz
In this talk, Donnie shared what he's seen and what he predicts for the future of how we build and deploy applications to generate business value. You'll hear buzzwords like DevOps, Docker, and microservices used in ways that actually make sense (for a change), see real-world examples of companies that have succeeded at the leading edge, and learn how approaches like the one taken by HashiCorp's Terraform (by the authors of Vagrant) will be critical to the future of how we build software.
