Effects of tidy/messy work environment on human accuracyBlaqXIII
This document summarizes a research study that examined the effects of tidy and messy work environments on human accuracy. The study conducted a laboratory experiment where 80 participants performed a simple data entry task in either a tidy or messy workspace. The results showed that conscientious people committed more errors in the messy environment than in the tidy environment. Therefore, the key finding was that a messy work environment can negatively impact the accuracy of highly conscientious employees by inducing them to work in a defective way. The implications are that organizations should promote tidy work environments to achieve higher accuracy, as this will benefit highly conscientious employees the most while not affecting less conscientious employees.

While the studies looked at different variables, they consistently showed that personality, especially conscientiousness, plays an important role in leadership. This has implications for human resource managers in selecting candidates for leadership positions.

Employee Work Behavior
Psychologist have conducted numerous studies regarding employee work behavior. Such studies have been geared at assisting managers in shaping employee behaviors in ways that maximize their productivity. Employee behavior is shaped by attitudes, cultural norms and the quality of work interactions. Employee behavioral studies are consequential in understanding the underlying motivations of workers in a work environment. There is a direct correlation between employee and organization behavior. This partly explains why I selected the topic.
Behavioral psychologists agree that the productivity of entity is premised on the staff behavior. Highly motivated employees tend to exhibit a positive behavior regarding the trajectory of an enterprise. However, psychologists generally disagree on ideal methods of inculcating positive behavior in a work setting. For instance, Abraham Maslow stipulates that business enterprises can positively shape the behavior of their employees by catering for their needs (Neher, 2017). Maslow argued that employees are mainly motivated to seek for job opportunities in order to satisfy necessities like food, security and shelter. An enterprise that adequately meets employee concerns in this arena will have motivated employees who exemplify positive work etiquette. The growing trend towards workaholism is another aspect of staff behavior that psychologists have been studying. Whereas personal attributes like a strive for greater achievement, perfectionism and motivation are responsible for the phenomenon, some studies have indicated otherwise (Andreassen & Pallesen, 2016). The tough economic environment has partially contributed to the trend. Employees are compelled to work overtime or undertake two jobs to make ends meet. This disputes the notion that workaholics are naturally born. Workaholism is an adaptive characteristic to a work environment. Workaholism is closely linked to excessive work patterns. The pattern can be attributed to the emergence of strict organization behaviors that emphasize on work quality and quantity (Kirrane, Breen & O'Connor, 2018). It is thereby common to find employees who work for long hours.
This topic aligns with my psychology specialization in many aspects. First, it provides a rationale for effective exploitation of human effort. The study of employee psychology in the execution of duties is crucial in determining whether an organization has instituted humane policies that encourage employee productivity (Bakker et al., 2013). Employees should not be mechanically exploited like machines. Secondly, employee behavioral studies are vital in explaining why some organization succeed while others fail. The secret lies on how the human resource is applied. The c.
This document provides an overview of key concepts in business ethics. It discusses what business ethics is, why it matters, and different levels of business ethics. The key points are that business ethics examines right and wrong behavior in business, it matters because unethical practices are costly to companies, and ethical training can help improve decision-making and relationships in the workplace.

wk 2 1. Briefly summary of the comparison of the reliability and validity of responses on attitude scales
Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor MI, Retrieved from http://www4.wccnet.edu/departments/curriculum/assessment.php?levelone=tools
Strong words or moderate words: A comparison of the reliability and validity of responses on attitude scales
A common assumption in attitude measurement is that items should be composed of strongly worded statements. The presumed benefit of strongly worded statements is that they produce more reliable and valid scores than statements with moderate or weak wording. This study tested this assumption using commonly accepted criteria for reliability and validity. Two forms of attitude scales were created—a strongly worded form and a moderately worded form—measuring two attitude objects—attitude towards animal experimentation and attitude towards going to the movies. Different formats were randomly administered to samples of graduate students. There was no superiority found for strongly worded statements over moderately worded statements. The only statistically significant difference was found between one pair of validity coefficients ( r = 0.69; r = 0.15; Z = 2.60, p ≤ 0.01) and that was in the direction opposite from expected, favoring moderately worded items over strongly worded items (total scores correlated with a general behavioral item). The document discusses different approaches to compliance and ethics programs. It argues that a dynamic approach using behavioral science, data, and positive language is more effective than a traditional prescriptive approach. A dynamic approach frames compliance in a rational, scientific context and emphasizes the benefits of compliance rather than penalties of non-compliance. It also tailors messaging to different levels in an organization by understanding their unique motivations and objectives. An effective program requires understanding an organization's business and adapting to motivate long-term, meaningful change.

An Ontology For Strongly Sustainable Business Models Defining An Enterprise ...Carrie Cox
This document presents a framework for an ontology of strongly sustainable business models that is compatible with natural and social sciences. It begins by discussing definitions of business success, noting that conventional definitions focus only on profits, which can impede sustainability. It then reviews literature across multiple disciplines to develop principles for strongly sustainable business models. These principles form an ontology called the Strongly Sustainable Business Model Ontology (SSBMO) that can describe business models achieving significant sustainability according to scientific understanding, addressing weaknesses in prior ontologies.
The document discusses J.P. Morgan's career path from working at his father's firm to founding his own banking company. It notes that Morgan had a habit of reorganizing financially troubled businesses to restore profitability through a process called "Morganization." Additionally, the document examines Morgan's role in providing $65 million in gold to the government during the 1865 depression, though some may argue this profited Morgan at the expense of the struggling government.
This document summarizes a paper that explores the roles of corporate HR functions in multinational companies (MNCs). It discusses how issues of coordination, standardization, and customization are important in MNCs. Socially responsible human resource
practices: disclosures of the world’s best
multinational workplaces
Charbel Greige Frangieh and Hala Khayr Yaacoub
Abstract
Purpose – This paper aims to explore the socially responsible human resource practices disclosed by
the ‘‘World’s Best Multinational Workplaces,’’ with the aim of facilitating the benchmarking of these
disclosed practices.
Design/methodology/approach – Using the ‘‘World’s Best Multinational Workplaces’’ list was a
strategic decision in this study due to the rigorous methodology used in the preparation of the list as it
concentrated largely on the employees’ feedback, thus ensuring that these listed companies are actually
top workplaces. Both manifest and latent content analysis, are applied on 23 of the 25 listedMultinational
Corporations’ websites and reports, and company reviews done on these companies by the Great Place
toWork for to pinpoint the social responsible human resource practices.
Findings – Most of the practices disclosed are oriented toward enhancing the employees’ work
experiences whether that happened through improving their employment conditions or through having a
diverse and inclusive workplace. Thus, the employee-oriented human resource management practices
got the lion’s share of the disclosures, rather than the legal or the Corporate social responsibility–human
resources facilitation components.
Research limitations/implications – The practices that are already used at small and medium
enterpriseswithin national contexts were not covered in this study.
Practical implications – It is assumed that businesses can benefit from the practices of these MNCs
which are considered as great places to work for, and as pioneers in their socially responsible human
resource approaches.
Originality/value – This study is likely to fill an important gap in the corporate social responsibility
literature, which gave pint-sized attention to the internal stakeholders, rendering the academic coverage
of employee-related practices scarce if not absent

Effective ways to understand and organize data using descriptive statistics. Analyzing data collected from studies of young music students, the video helps viewers sort through basic data-interpretation concepts: measures of central tendency, levels of measurement, measures of dispersion, and graphs. A wide range of organization principles are covered, including mode, median, and mean; discrete and continuous data; nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio data; standard deviation; and normal distribution. Animation and graphics clarify and reinforce each concept. The video concludes with a quick quiz to assess understanding and focus on key areas. A viewable/printable instructor’s guide is available online. WE DISCUSSED HOW TO DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT AND CONTROL VARIABLES IN OUR FIRST VIDEO. AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO LOOK AT WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THE DATA THAT HAS BEEN COLLECTED. AN EXPERIMENT IS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WAYS TO SHOW THE CAUSE OF AN EVENT AND ITS EFFECT ON OTHER THINGS. BUT REMEMBER THAT AN INVESTIGATION CAN ONLY BE A SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENT IF IT HAS AN INDEPENDENT VARIABLE WHICH IS MANIPULATED .

The paper presents results from case studies of 6 MNCs to identify the activities of corporate HR departments and the processes used to design, develop, and implement those activities. The roles of HR are found to depend on the organizational context, including whether the company operates internationally.
Nick Brown Drug Repositioning InformaticsNick Brown
AstraZeneca is developing informatics tools and search solutions to identify new opportunities for drug repositioning. They are using approaches like structure-based predictive modelling, mining existing drug information, and mechanistic repositioning to systematically consider alternative disease indications for compounds. Key initiatives include building an asset repositioning matrix, extending data sources, capturing biological process maps, and launching consortiums to facilitate drug repositioning and combination efforts. The goal is to unlock the potential of existing compounds in new disease areas through both internal efforts and external partnerships.

Introduction
An ethical movement is gaining momentum in the business world as a result of
management malpractices committed in the past decades. The ethical crisis drove
practitioners and researchers around the world to acknowledge the importance of
integrating business ethics and sustainability into their organizations. Engaging in
responsible practices was seen as a means to avoid crises and simultaneously lead to
financial benefits, (Doh et al., 2011; Wang et al., 2015; Voegtlin et al., 2012), produce social
capital (Maak, 2007) and enhance work-related behaviors like retention and workplace
commitment (Waldman and Galvin, 2008; Cameron, 2011; Doh et al., 2011; Doh and
Quigley, 2014; Miska et al., 2014). The misconducts in top management positions gained
